The carnivore diet for busy professionals: a realistic 30-day starting framework

2 May 2026 · 8 min read · Kiernan Roy

What to eat, what to skip, how to handle the adaptation week, and how to stay consistent when your calendar is not your own.

Why professionals stall

Most nutrition advice is written for people with time. Meal prep Sundays, macro spreadsheets, six small meals. None of that survives a quarter-end or a week of travel.

A carnivore approach works here for one structural reason: it removes the decision layer. Fewer inputs means fewer chances to fall off.

Week one: adaptation

Expect a dip in energy between days three and six. This is a fuel transition, not a failure signal. Salt aggressively, drink more water than feels necessary, and do not add training intensity in this window.

  • Eat ruminant meat, eggs, and fish first
  • Salt every meal deliberately
  • Keep training light for seven days
  • Do not weigh yourself daily

Weeks two to four: consistency

Lock two default breakfasts and three default dinners. Repetition is the mechanism, not a compromise. By week four most clients report stable energy across the full working day and a sharp drop in cravings.

Eating out without derailing

Steak, burger without the bun, eggs, or grilled fish exist on nearly every menu. One rule handles ninety percent of restaurants: order the protein, decline the sides, ask for butter.
